Hawkers and Pedlars commissioners 1698-1810

A provisional list compiled by J C Sainty, February 2003

Introduction

This commission was established in 1698 (9 Will. III, c. 25) and abolished in 1810 when its functions were transferred to the commissioners of Hackney Coaches (50 Geo. III, c. 41). Appointments were made by treasury commission. The salaries were fixed at £100.
