Medieval Credit Finance/Sowing the Seeds

30 March 2010, ICMA Centre, University of Reading

This event is jointly presented by the ESRC-funded project ‘Credit Finance in the Middle Ages: Loans to the English Crown, c.1270-1340’ and 'Sowing the Seeds', a workshop for early career medieval economic historians. In the morning there will be a discussion session about topical issues in medieval economic history. The afternoon session includes presentations from research projects looking at different aspects of medieval finance and a keynote lecture by Professor Jim Bolton entitled ‘Was there a 'crisis of credit' in fifteenth- century England?’.

HistoryLabPlus - Knowledge Exchange

1.15pm - 5pm, Friday 19 March 2010, Wolfson Room, Institute of Historical Research

This free workshop, aimed at advanced PhD students and early career researchers, explores some of the ways in which historians can collaborate with bodies outside universities and engage with a wider public. The event will cover : designing major projects and applying for ESRC funding; working with museums on events and exhibitions; and making an impact on communities and policy-making.
